Also, I tried commenting out the Domain entry in cntlm.ini, but then, I get the following error:Įxitting with error. I've tried all 64 combinations of these items with the above-mentioned cntlm invocation, and in all cases I get the same sequence of errors that I outlined above. #Firefox ssh proxy password manual#
I have tried quite a few values for Username, Domain, Password, and Proxy in cntlm.ini (see below), but in each case, I get the following output from this cntlm command:Ĭntlm: Workstation name used: nykdwm749627Ĭntlm: Using manual NTLM flags: 0圆820000Ĭntlm: Proxy returning invalid challenge!Ĭonfig profile 1/11. I'm trying to determine the proxy type by issuing this command:

Also, my proxy server does NOT use any kind of domain information during authentication, and this is what's confusing to me, since I'm not very familiar with the NTLM protocol. My proxy server requires a user ID and a password, and, of course, these are completely independent of my Windows domain login credentials.

As I mentioned above, this setup works fine when I access it directly.
#Firefox ssh proxy password software#
Actually, it's a somewhat complex setup which forwards my proxy requests via the proxytunnel software () through ssh to an off-site Squid proxy. I have a proxy running on my Windows box at localhost:11111. I want NTLM to work so that Firefox can remember my proxy credentials between invocations. This setup works fine from my browser if I don't go through cntlm, so I know that it's working. I have the following setup on my Windows XP machine (see below), and I want to use cntlm because Firefox is forcing me to use NTLM, which isn't properly supported at my site.
